Keyboard shortcuts

AudioPaper has few shortcuts, and none of them work in other apps: it never claims a key combination system-wide, so it can’t collide with anything you already use.

In the menu bar menu

These work while AudioPaper’s menu is open.

Opening the menu from the keyboard: press ⌃ F8 (Move focus to status menus, a macOS shortcut), use ← → to reach AudioPaper’s icon, then press Return. On keyboards where the top row controls brightness and volume, add fn.

While AudioPaper is the active app

AudioPaper has an app menu (AudioPaper, Edit, View, Window, Help) only while its icon is in the Dock: when the Mini Player is open, or when the menu bar icon is hidden. Click the Mini Player, or the Dock icon, to make it the active app.

The Window menu also has Float Mini Player on Top and Show Mini Player on All Desktops, and the AudioPaper menu has Check for Updates…, all without shortcuts.

Siri and the Shortcuts app

Without touching the keyboard: ask Siri “What’s on my desktop in AudioPaper?”, “Next image in AudioPaper”, “Pause AudioPaper” or “Resume AudioPaper”. The same actions are in the Shortcuts app, where you can give any shortcut its own keyboard shortcut. The full list is in the Reference.

Adding your own

macOS lets you give a shortcut to any command in an app’s menus:

1. Open System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts… → App Shortcuts.
2. Click +, choose AudioPaper as the application, and type the menu command’s name exactly, for example Float Mini Player on Top.
3. Press the keys you want, and click Done.

This works for commands in the app menu above, while AudioPaper is the active app. It doesn’t reach the menu bar menu.
